Oahu - When to Go
Oahu When To Go
As a family destination with lots to offer in Hawaii, Oahu Island and Honolulu, or more exactly, Waikiki, are the most popular. With the beach life and nightlife in Waikiki alone, Hawaii attracts a unique ambiance that makes it an easy selection in choosing when to go.
The best times to visit Waikiki and Oahu don’t really seem as important, as it is a-year-round resort with a warm and appealing climate. The constant temperature’s of the islands of Oahu, balmily reach anywhere from 70-87 degrees F. (21-29C) although, it’s reported by the Oahu ‘when to go criteria’ that rainfalls is heaviest from December to March, occurring when the islands are at their busiest. So, unless you secure your vacation to the south of the island, you may discover a little rainfall on your trip. The most common advice on when to go is just as the peak is either beginning or settling down. Yet, the choice is very much an individual one.
In the Hawaii/ Honolulu guide on when the go, the warmest temperature is in September and the coolest is in January, so, it’s easy to judge by your own personal preference, when to go. However, I get the feeling that aloha spirit is very enticing and simply deciding when to go is a little difficult, because the general attitude is “Any time is a good time in Hawaii.”
It also seems that the essence of Oahu is that there’s always something interesting to do, and with lots of street performers, good shopping, great surfing and diving, reported from all over the island, the question is not when to go, it’s when not to go. Off peak January apparently, is when the Whales come in, and even though the temps are a little lower, the water is still warm.
